    A Celebration of Life Service for Stacey L. Erickson, 63, of Fairmont, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be held at Welcome Cemetery in Welcome, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home.   Stacey passed away Sunday morning, September 27, 2026, at his REM home in Fairmont.  The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.

      Stacey Lamar Erickson was born on March 2, 1963, to Marland and Geraldine (Brockman) Erickson in Trimont, MN. Stacey attended Special Ed classes in Welcome, Sherburn and Fairmont Public schools. He grew up in Fox Lake Village before moving to Fairmont. He took great pride in his work at Step and MRCI in Fairmont. Stacey was a member of Fox Lake Chapel where he was baptized and enjoyed reading scripture and singing hymns.
    He was a proud and active member of the community and was involved with ARC and the Eagles Club in Fairmont, where he enjoyed helping by washing and clearing tables. He was honored as Martin County’s Outstanding Handicapped Citizen in 1983 and was an honorary fireman and rode on the firetruck in the Welcome Parade in 1990. He was also affectionately known as the “Sheriff” of Fox Lake. 
   Stacey was involved in the “People‘s First Program” where he visited the state capital as a representative. He enjoyed being the ball boy for the Welcome Feed Mill softball team. He was an enthusiastic participant in Special Olympics, where he enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He loved sports of all kinds and especially enjoyed attending Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings games. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, WWE wrestling, car races, music and dancing, especially when the Johnny Holms Band was playing. His enthusiasm for life, love of sports and music, and friendly spirit brought joy to those around him and will be fondly remembered by many.
   Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers and sister, Jeff Erickson of Fairmont, Neil (Carol) Erickson of Brookings, SD, Jay Erickson of Merrifield and Heidi (Bob) VonHoldt of Granada; nieces and nephews, Georgie Erickson, Kandi Widger, Tyler (Rachel) Erickson, Tonia (Matthew) Hulst, Melissa (John) Hoge, Mikayla Erickson (Eric Lambert), Haylee VonHoldt and Carlee (Nic) Vanasse; many great nieces and nephews, aunts, numerous cousins and other extended family.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Marland and Geraldine Erickson; niece, Jennifer Erickson; aunts and uncles.
