A Celebration of Life Service for Ardis Schleininger, age 83, of Fairmont, MN will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be held at a later date at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The family would like everyone attending the service to wear their bowling shirts or casual attire. Those wishing to view the service may do so on the following link: www.splfairmont.org. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Martin County Humane Society. Ardis passed away on Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ardis (Manzke) Schleininger was born on December 9, 1942, to Harold and Fern (Plath) Manzke in Fairmont, MN. She received her education from Armstrong Public Schools and graduated from Welcome High School in 1960.
Ardis was united in marriage on April 15, 1961, to Leon Edward Schleininger at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. In her younger years, Ardis worked at the soda fountain at Woolworths and then worked for Peerless Launders and Cleaners before working as an overnight supervisor for over thirty years at 3M in Fairmont. After retiring from 3M, Ardis worked at Curves and Dareld’s Appliance.
Ardis was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. She loved bowling and participated over thirty-five years in the National Championship Bowling Tournaments. Ardis was also always up for Bingo, going on trips to the casinos and playing cards in multiple card clubs. She was a member of Rose Lake Golf Club and enjoyed being outside for a round of golf with friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-four years, Leon Schleininger; sons, Kenneth (Lori Putney) Schleininger and Kevin (Jodi) Schleininger; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin) Scheppmann, Andrew Schleininger, Daniel Schleininger, Ryan (Maggie) Schleininger, Zachary Schleininger and Tyler Schleininger; four great-grandchildren, Austin Schleininger, Elin Scheppmann, Reed Scheppmann and Dawson Schleininger; two sisters, Lois Martinez and Jane (Ralph) Thoren; sisters-in-law, RoseAnne Manzke, Kathy Manzke, Sandy Grefe and Donna Schleininger; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Fern Manzke; son, Mark Schleininger; brothers, Arlo Manzke, James “Buddy” Manzke, Marlin Manzke and Duane Manzke; brothers and sister-in-laws, Joyce (Donald) Henriksen and Larry Schleininger; and numerous aunts and uncles.
