Armbrust Receives, Military Honors

Funeral Services for Albert W. Armbrust, age 99, of rural Truman, MN will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Waverly Lutheran Church in rural Trimont, MN. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post #373 of Trimont. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Kramer Funeral Home in Trimont and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Those wishing to view the service may do so by going to Waverly Lutheran Church’s Facebook page. Albert passed away Tuesday evening, September 30, 2025, at Woodland Manor in Fairmont. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Waverly Lutheran Church in rural Trimont. The Kramer Funeral Home of Welcome, Sherburn, and Trimont, MN, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Albert Wayne Armbrust was born on June 8, 1926, to William and Lydia (Milbrandt) Armbrust in rural Truman, MN at the same house he lived his entire life. He was confirmed at Waverly Lutheran Church and attended school in Waverly Township District #54. Albert served in the United States Army from March 29, 1945, until being honorably discharged on December 7, 1946.
On February 22, 1957, Albert was united in marriage to Muriel Ek at First Lutheran Church in Triumph, MN. After their marriage, they farmed in Waverly Township and raised their three children, Joel, Ruth and Mary. Albert was a passionate farmer who raised cattle, pigs and chickens along with growing corn and soybeans. He loved to be outside working around his farm, mowing his yard and raising a garden. Albert was known for having tomatoes and would often can them and give them to others. Faith was a cornerstone to Albert and he loved God and sharing his love with others. He was a longtime member of Waverly Lutheran Church and was active on many church boards. He was also a member of the Waverly Town Board. Besides his faith, family was the most important thing to Albert and he cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
